I really believe that if more people put less effort into being normal (whatever that is. are fuzzy concepts something we should be aspiring to?) they'd be a lot happier and well-adjusted.

We must overcome the notion that we must be regular. It robs you of your chance to be extraordinary." -Uta Hagen

I wholeheartedly agree.

'Normal' is an indefinable state of being.

To aspire to being the best person one can be, and being happy and true to oneself, should be the goal, not hiding one's true nature or personality to fit some arbitrary image imposed by society.

I'd much rather be an imaginative, enthusiastic and genuinely happy person wearing a frilly Peter Pan outfit than an angry, frustrated man wearing an 'acceptable' three-piece grey suit who hates his acceptable job and his ordinary wife, and lives his life in perpetual fear of it being found out that he secretly enjoys wearing red silk bloomers.

Hahahaha my dog had fairy wings for Halloween last year. And I know someone whose dogs have better clothes than most people. Big dogs, not little lap dogs. biggrin The dogs absolutely love it, the spoiled things.

Interesting... but what is "themselves?" Do you think some people honestly are very dull-seeming and prefer to dress Gap, or that deep down inside those folks are itching to go wild and crazy and just can't get up the guts to do it?

I wonder...

I know some that are very ordinary dressers and they like it that way. Excitment for them is buying a polo shirt in a new shade of blue. lol

I have other friends who have a whole seperate wardrobe for their "at home wear"
Not run of the mill, but not out in public either.

Then there's the ones who have different underclothing than most people, ordinary on the outside, different underneath.

Then there's the people like Peter Pan who are just all out there showing their preferences to the world.
It's all good. cool

If he's happy, what's the harm in it? Most people look and dress exactly the same as everybody else. I think a person brave enough to go out into the world knowingly looking like a freak because that's how they want to look should be congratulated.

For God's sake, people. We're on a site devoted to a man who's made a career of wearing weird shit, sometimes otutfits not too far off ol' Peter's here. Lighten up.

I was begining to think that I was on a Toby Keith site rather than a Prince site, everybody was starting to sound like a bunch of mid-west conservative
rednecks.
