I'll guess and say probably neither, your just doing it cuz thats what we do. Nothing wrong with that. What I was so ignorantly saying is that, I don't THINK Christams would have held on, like it did, or became what it did, if it wasn't for adding Jesus into the mix. You probably have a point. I mean, there are many ignorant people on this planet...and many think xmas is all about Jesus. I think I love you lol

In reference to the topic. If you believe in God then you should not delve into any spiritistic practices at all! By using the board you would be in fact inquiring information from God's enemy's. You would NOT receive his protection. That is the scary thing. Demons take delight in fooling people into believing that they are good or non-existant. The devil is a liar and a slanderer and has caused evil to come upon our planet. All you have to do is read the Bible. Another thing is curiosity is a dangerous thing. My friend decided to "play" with a ouija board and used to laugh at me when I told her not to. Sure enough things started happening in her house. Things being knocked over, lights going out, noises, bed shaking... etc. She was scared out of her mind. She has since started going to church. And I mean she has a full schedule and routine of playing gospel music and everything else. Prior to dabbling with that board she wasn't even thinking about religion at all. Better to show you then tell you what God thinks of those dabbling in that sort of thing.
1 cor 10:20 ....and I do not want YOU to become sharers with the demons. 21 YOU cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; YOU cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons." Gen 3:8 Later they heard the voice of Jehovah God walking in the garden about the breezy part of the day, and the man and his wife went into hiding from the face of Jehovah God in between the trees of the garden. 9 And Jehovah God kept calling to the man and saying to him: “Where are you?” 10 Finally he said: “Your voice I heard in the garden, but I was afraid because I was naked and so I hid myself.” 11 At that he said: “Who told you that you were naked? From the tree from which I commanded you not to eat have you eaten?” Rev 12:9 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God... These "former" angels have since become "demons" due to their opposition in Heaven. Deut 18:10 10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. 13 You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God. I hate to sound preachy but I feel it is my responsibility to enlighten those who "care" about the biblical stance on the ouija board on this thread. Leave it alone!

SureThing said: AsylumUtopia said: You really should question what you're taught to believe, or at least listen more closely when you're being told what to hate. The Hail Mary is not a person, a god, or any other sort of entity - it's a prayer. The thing to which you refer is usually called Holy Mary, or The Virgin Mary by catholics and they do not worship her as a god, false or otherwise. They believe her to be the mother of Jesus, by immaculate conception (hence the 'virgin' bit), and as such they revere her and pray to her. Catholicism is very clear on this - there is only one God, and here's where it gets tricky - there's three of them - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit (the spirit of Jesus when he ascended to Heaven), but they're all part of the one God - the Holy Trinity. Confused ? Me too. I wouldn't get too stressed about church halls being used for bingo, the Roman Catholic church gets up to much worse shit than that - the P2 bank fiasco for instance. "It is the duty of all mankind to think god out of existence" No, I'm not confused at all, but Thanks. I feel that praying to Mary, even though she's the mother of Jesus, is Idol worship, thats all. I have NOTHING against Catholics, I just don't believe in doing that. . I wasn't really suggesting you were confused, just thought I'd offer a little info on the oddities of catholicism. They don't just pray to Mary either - there are hundreds (possibly thousands) of catholic saints, all of whom can be prayed to. Some of them are prayed to for particular reasons, like if you've lost something you pray to St. Somebody-or-other so they'll help you find it. The only one I can remember right now is St. Christopher - patron saint of travellers. I can see your logic in thinking that praying to anything other than god is idol worship. That's not how catholicism works though, it's perfectly acceptable (actually it's integral to the belief system) for them to pray to Mary and any saints of their choice as well as god. The catholic stance on idol worship is the worship of things like money and power - which always struck me as a tad hypocritical, given how rich and powerful the Roman Catholic church is. How it got religious is way beyond me but the fact that a lot of the religious talk, with relatively few exceptions, is from folks who not only use the word God and an expletive in the same sentence but also contains some of the same folks who talk about all kinds o' stuff against what the Bible teaches. Please cut the crappola. I may be a heathen but I am never gonna put the 'f' word in a sentence with God. There is also just kinda blatant disregard for people's beliefs as a whole on here but, such is the Org, so I don't expect any better. My thoughts: I believe there is a God and I believe the Qujia board is just a game. For the people who believe otherwise, I respect you feel that way but I wholeheartedly disagree. This thread is so freakin' ridiculous. Sorry, but I don't see a blatant disregard for people's beliefs in this thread at all. Maybe one or two snuck by me, but in general this conversation is interesting and very civil and respectful. Well I think your bein' a cunt.

Before you mess with the Ouija board, make sure you research the basic ground rules. I think that if you make contact, you have to ask if the spirit is "bad" or "good". If it's bad, then send it away. And when you're done I think that you have to end the session a certain way. I'm not 100% sure of anything in this world besides the fact that we don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about the universe. For ANYONE to pretend to know for sure that there IS or ISN'T a God is absurd. We as humans are still learning, still developing, still moving along in this thing called life. So, if you're going to mess with the spirit realm - whether or not you believe in it - don't take any chances. but, you gotta question why a mass produced game board would break dimensional barriers (antique or not!). I'll stick with the static on my tv and the bedroom closet... GUNS used to be hand-made, and now they are mass-produced. Does that make them any less dangerous? By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
