"Superman Returns" Blew My Mind Ya'll

i just got the 2-disc edition today.

and i gotta tall ya...seeing Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman...
his resemblance to the Late Christopher Reeve is UNCANNY!disbelief omg..he had it down pat. the walk, the talk, heck even the voice all the way down to the glasses.i got chills from looking at it. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor was a good choice for a villain nod

the only drawback?
casting Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.my personal pick would have been Courtney Cox-Arquette.

all in all it was a good movie that i'll be watching again thumbs up!

not a Caricature...more like Channeling.

I loved it but I think a lot of people found it boring becuase there was way too much story needed to be told, what happened while he was gone those 5 years, who the kid was etc i think they tried to tell too much story and forgot it was a superman movie, but I am superman geek so i loved it

okay...now the whole five year thing bugged me cause kate and the guy who play superman both look 22...so how old were they when they got it on to have lil superboy? 17?

and what the hell is up with having the superboy? ughhh...that was soo painful. disbelief

man, did this film frustrate me....

funnily enough i just hired this yesterday.I had never been that bothered
about seeing it but i thought it was fantastic.
I agree brandon Routh did an excellent job as Clark Kent all the maneerisms were
there.
Kevin Spacey was a scarey Lex Luthor and i liked how they kept the comedy
with him and his hoods.
The girl playing Lois Lane is a different matter, she didnt really impress
me much.

all in all a great film though.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

my choice for Lois Lane would have been Keegan Connor Tracy.
I fell in love with her in Final Destination 2 and her character in that
would have been similar imo to Lois Lanes.

Yeah, I thought it was slow at times. Aside from the awesome plane scene, there wasn't much going on.

But all that will change in the next film. There'll be lots of action as Supes tangles with a villain from outer space. I'm thinking either Doomsday, Darkseid or Brainiac.

i loved it. i have the dvd set as well. i think in light of the previous films from the 80s which were bad films, they had to take the film someplace and kind of push a reset button while mixing in a few interesting new sub-plots like the kid and Pa Kent being dead.

i think it was a very stylized film and it had the same type of build up like Spiderman and Batman did where you didn't get to see the hero too much at the start or the first half.
i bet in the second one, Supes is going to be all over it.

Way too much computer animation, boring story, too greenish look, ridiculous muscle costume , and the Lex Luthor scenes were too funny without really being funny.

Can´t wait til the next Batman movie comes out.Or Spiderman,

Routh is hot, for sure. But what a bore-fest. Kate Bosworth absolutely sucked balls, and way too young. Kevin Spacey was ok, but did we really need another Superman movie with yet another realestate scheme from Lex Luthor. bored

How do you mess up a Superman flick? Let's hope the next one makes up for it.

It had it's little moments but was overall average at best. Didn't like the concept of him having a son and not even knowing about it until the end.

WTF! He can't remember sticking his ding-a-ling into Lois Lane and releasing his Super-spunk? Bollocks! Bollocks and very irresponsible of a Superhero, IMO hmph! What sort of message does that send out to the kids. And Lois, that slag!, the less said about her the better disbelief

I much preferred "Batman Begins". What an awesome film.

I'm so obsessed with Superman the Movie (1978), it was one of the most memorable movie watching/packed audience spectacles that I remember.

This new movie seemed like a tv show in comparison, I don't think plot/storylines/drama arc/rising scope are Singer's strong points. He's more like a good art director.

For example the scene where jimmy Olsen and Clark are sitting at the bar talking to the bartender is awful, tv-sitcom quality in mood. So is the moment where Lois & her husband fly back to rescue superman out of the water (it's like a moment from the A-team or something, feels so small and fake)

Actually the whole secret son plot is b-movie quality stuff.

it looked good.

and what the hell was up with Lane winning a pulitzer for writing, what was it? something like; "why the world doesn't need superman"?

wtf was that? they couldn't have made it a people magazine cover article? it had to be a pulitzer? stupid stupid stupid. i cringe every time i think of it...

seriously, the pulitzer win and the superboy storylines should be forgotten in part 2...just go as if those things never happened.

what!? the pulitzer thing is fine. in fact, it stays quite close to the Lois Lane from the comics. i think it made sense. the one or two things i didn't like about it was that i'm not sure Kate Bosworth was a good Lois. Lois is supposed to be a brassy lady. tough as nails, slightly butch but always hot but after watching the dvd again, i can live with her for now and the other thing was that.....i can't think of anything. ok that's it.

but i like the way that Singer took the story forward. instead of doing what seems to be the trend in superhero films by starting over or at the beginning of the hero's story ie Batman and Spiderman, he carried on with a classic superhero storyline. and yes, you know, it's been a long time since Superman 4 (what a nightmare that was) that you can just move on to a plausible story line like this one. hopefully the next one will focus on his search for Krypton. that's classic comic book story telling.

Nah, true Superman fans who don´t like it when bullshit happens to one of their favorite heroes.
lol

After waiting for years, I was seriously disappointed...but, I do admit that the main character was EXACTLY like the late Mr. Christopher Reeves ( RIP) ...but the computer tricks and the storyline were just too much !
Can you believe they wanted Nicholas Cage to play Superman ? I wonder how that would have turned out....

there were a lot of holes in this..I think they made a mistake by saying it was an unoffical Superman 3 taking place after part 2...too many holes was my big issue and it ended kinda sudden for an almost 3 hour movie, my mom was like its over? she wanted him to go find lex lol
