the most unusual to my palette to date would be ethiopian food. don't get me wrong, i really like it! but the spices and the textures are very unusual to me.
now i'm hungry for some.

I haven't had the chance to eat much unusual food - probably the most unusual food was this Durian fruit thing. I didn't like it though. HE'S COMING AGAIN

Oh, not only Durian fruit but! but! - chicken brains.
OK, maybe not, but I was in like first grade and my friend told me that's what it was. So I at least thought I was eating chicken brains, and had the guts to do so at six. HE'S COMING AGAIN

i've also had stuff like:
-- pig feet (not much to eat, it's mostly fat and bone) -- pig ears (my mom used to buy them and cook them a lot when i was real little. i'd always eat them with ketchup...they tasted like porky rubber) -- oxtail soup (pretty yummy)

yes, but those are usually dried so dogs can chew on them. the stuff sold for human consumption is over in the butcher's section. you take them home, clean them, throw them in a pot with some water and salt, and boil 'em for a while.

I tried making a dolphin steak a few years back. I was wandering through the frozen section of the thai grocers downtown, and I found myself staring at a package of dolphin steaks. Who even knew they sold such things? Not I, that's for sure. It was priced outrageously, but I'm a sucker for trying new things. Unfortunately, I thought it was pretty disgusting - rather oily and quite tough, though who knows if I prepared it properly.

Was it actual like bottlenose dolphin or mahi mahi?

now that i think of it, i may have tried boiled cow's tongue before...i remember some of my relatives cooking it often. my uncle lanny (r.i.p.) loved him some cow tongue...i remember living over at my sister's house and one day he'd come home, with some cow tongue. the shit looks nasty as hell when it's cooking, because of the tastebuds popping up while it's being boiled.
uncle lanny was all like "ya'll want some?" me and my sister were like "hell no!" he was like, "alright, then...you dunno what you missin" and ate it all himself. ewwwww.

Was it actual like bottlenose dolphin or mahi mahi? Not a clue, I'm afraid - the package didn't give much away regarding the contents. It just said in large, bold letters: DOLPHIN.
