While I was in Indiana last month, I took all my precious electronic creature comforts - my laptop, my mp3 player, my battery powered toothbrush, etc. - and in the chaos of the trip, I forgot to pack the charger cord for my mp3 player before I returned home, so it's still at my mother's house.

And OF COURSE, my old ass Creative Labs Zen Xtra takes some crazy wacko hard-to-find charger, so I've just had to listen to my mp3 player sparingly until all the juice in the battery wore out, or until I could get back to my mom's place to get the charger, or until I could find a replacement.

Well, the mp3 player's battery died this week, on Wednesday.

And I've been going INSANE for some kind of replacement headphone music thingie.

So. This morning I ordered from Amazon what I *HOPE* is the correct replacement charger, and this afternoon I resigned myself to buying a portable CD player for use until I can get my mp3 player charged back up.

I'm totally devolving! I feel like I should be shaving with a piece of broken glass and wiping my hiney with tree leaves!

If I don't get my mp3 charger soon, I'm going to grow a long beard and start walking around my neighborhood carrying a big bundle of sticks on my back and singing plainchants about Thor or some shit.

Has anyone else been forced to de-evolve lately?

you either download stuff from the web or you transfer your cds to computer files, then you transfer them to the mp3 player. pretty simple and you don't have to schlep a cd case around.

i'm 'whatever' about downloading music. i already had tons of CDs and i liked the idea of putting my entire CD collection in one little box that i can take to work and to the gym with me every day. i will admit that owning an mp3 player has gotten me into the habit of buying more downloads than actual CDs, but mainly i just like toting around what i've owned forever.
