The thing to always remember in the old soccer vs football debate is that soccer players are way hotter than football players.

Therefore, soccer is better.

Aren't you Canadian? How about Hockey players. Where do they rank? lol.

Hockey players are generally the worst. All bruised and toothless and broken-nosed and such. And they usually have bad hair.

Of course, in general I'm not attracted to athletes at all. lol It's just sooooo not my type. Soccer (yes, I know it's really 'football') players tend to be my one exception.

For those who are debating and comparing American football players vs voetball (soccer) players, they are two totally different sports with completely different physical requirements from the players. confused You really can't compare and say who is "better". You'd put an American football player in a soccer game, and most of them would have a heart attack after 10 minutes. lol
It's just different conditioning for each sport.

I'd rather watch soccer and its players any day though. razz

I think it's cool if some people like Soccer or the NFL. Of course they are going to say one over the other on the preferred sport. I like the NFL! Soccer is really boring to me. Someone who likes Soccer will say the same about the NFL. No one is gonna convince anyone otherwise. Live and let like NFL or Soccer! It don't matter who or what or why.

Okay, I'll humor you.

Football is divine and requires all elements of fitness and skill to play. The Americans couldn't play it and be the best in the world at it so they bastardised another skilfull game (rugby), dumbed it down and made it last 4 fucking hours so that the people watching it had time for 58 (weak) beers and 9 million dougnuts or nachos during it. This way they can fool themselves that at this sport (that pretty much no other nation plays) they are world beaters.

Many if not most of America's best athletes are on the football field. They're bigger, stronger, and faster than your footys. If they played soccer, most of your beloved footys wouldn't dare step on the field with them.

If you had a clue about American football, you'd know the game is infinitely more complex than rugby, so there goes that fallacy you posited.

Funny thing is, I admit that your little footys are pretty doggone good athletes. I know more about your game than you know about mine. Because you don't want to know about it. Learn before you speak on The Game.

The day the U.S.A. wins the world cup (yanno the FIFA one...big gold thing!) then we can continue the debate.

Think about this, friend. Our best athletes aren't even playing for your little gold cup and we're still competitive. Thank your lucky stars.

But hey, your qualified dominance counts for something, right? lol.

Dude, come over and watch an American football game. I'll spring for tix. Then we'll talk. You can't speak on what you don't know.

Beckham to Cruise in LA

January 14, 2007

SOCCER star David Beckham says he took advice from celebrity friend Tom Cruise about his move to the United States.

The former England captain said he spoke to the Hollywood star - whose production company's relationship with Paramount Pictures was severed over his "creative suicide'' - about heading stateside.

The pair chatted for an hour the night before Becks' sensational deal with LA Galaxy was announced, and for another hour last night.

"I phoned him and said there might be an announcement,'' Beckham said yesterday in a satellite link-up from Madrid.

"Obviously, I'd asked him for his advice as well because he's a very wise man; he's a very good friend of mine.

"To have his experience and to have him explain some things to me to be prepared for ... but he couldn't speak any higher than what he was saying about LA. And that's going to be a big help for us, to have friends actually when we arrive in LA.''

Beckham and former Spice Girl wife Victoria have developed a firm friendship with Cruise and his new wife, Katie Holmes, over the past year.

The two women have been pictured on numerous shopping trips together and Victoria attended the Cruises' star-studded wedding in Italy.

Beckham said he was not going to America to play the "superstar''.

Earlier yesterday, he admitted his pay was huge, but insisted he was making the move because he wanted to be "part of history'' by making soccer bigger in the States.

"I'm coming there not to be the superstar, but to be part of the team and to work hard and hopefully to win things,'' Beckham said. "That's what I'm going to be all about.''

This is just a pending train wreck.

Why?

Because Becks took advice from his friend Tom Cruise who is "a wise man."

You write longer sentences that have a problem getting to the point. I write shorter sentences that are just as effecitve and hit harder. I can run in your game. You couldn't last in mine.

That about sums it up for your footys and my ballers.

this right here is what i have a problem with. you are claiming that american football players are the best athletes in the world, hands down.

this is just not true.

there are many good athletes in american football, but for you to make a blanketed comment like this only proves that you are a thick-headed "stereotypical" american. "my way is best, my game is best, and the rest of the world is just backwards bullshit."
