Toddler raped and killed in Brazilian church

SAO PAULO, Brazil - The body of a strangled toddler was found inside the baptismal basin of an evangelical church in southern Brazil, officials said Monday.

Eighteen-month-old Gabrielli Cristina Eichholz was found dead Saturday during services at the recently inaugurated Seventh-day Adventist Church in the city of Joinville, 250 miles southwest of Sao Paulo, said police inspector Rubens Passos de Freitas.

"Gabrielli was raped and then strangled to death. Her killer or killers also hit her over the head with a heavy blunt object," Freitas said.

No one has been arrested, and Freitas said police have no suspects. Parishioners of the small church were filtering in and out Monday, saying they were praying for the girl's soul.

If the mob first rams a broomstick up his/their *ss and then strangles, and then beats and then drowns him/them to death...I would be happy.

There's no proper punishment for such a terribly horrific crime.

How incredibly sad.

I guess there must be something wrong with me, because whenever I hear about these horribly brutal things, I always think about how miserable the person who did it must be. . . how awful their experience of life must be. And how tragic that is. I can never quite bring myself to wish them a nasty death.

I certainly hope they are found and locked up, though.

I don't know what to say. I know a lot of people are probably going to hate that you posted this but I believe that we all should know that stuff like this goes on. It's horrible. I'm not a violent person but if I was in the presence of the people that committed this awful awful crime, I wouldn't be able to be held back.

Unfortunately this isnt an isolated case. I remember watching a documentrary about a similar case happening in Brazil. It just seems so out of character for what appears to an extent to me as such a warm and friendly nation.

a slight generalisation, we cannot define people by the image their nation is trying to potray.

i have spent some time in brazil and it is no different from any other country
there are dickheads and there are good peoples.

unfortunately the dickheads in this world are capable of such atrocities.

how can you rape a child that is under 2 years old and still sleep at night and be able to live with yourself. You have to be the most cold hearted, unsensitive, child of satan to do something like that.

excuse me dude, but if calling brazil a warm and friendly nation is not generalising,
then i dont know what is....

and i agree it does a lot of work to sell a positive image, but you need to check out the Barrios dotted up along the hills
can u even step into these areas without fearing for your safety as a westerner

Brazil is a country of great extremes, the super rich living off the blood of the super poor.

agreed, it is naive to believe in a saviour, or in any politician,
even if they were being sincere, the powers that be would not listen

our first responsibility is how we spend our money and what banks we use,
people do not invest enough time researching the power of their money.

with responsible and ethical spending, the whole ballance of the distribution of wealth in this global economy would have to be readdressed

Interesting... this would make a good thread in P&R.

Too true. This just happened a couple of weeks ago in the UK in fact. I'm sure there was a thread about it here but I was out of town so I probably missed it.

lol don't want to turn this into a P&R thread.... but no, not superman. this isn't the way God intended the world to be, but due to human sin this world doesn't belong to Him. it will again, soon hopefully. and then, yes, i believe that He will set things straight.

this isn't P&R, so i won't say anymore on this subject here. but if you or anyone else wants know more you can orgnote me. wink
