How did you respond?

I'd have looked at her quizzically and said, "Whatever do you mean?"

so show up in a baggy sweater the next day, but get out all your make-up and paint yourself up like truck stop titty bar trash. bleaching out your hair and then perming it might be a good touch, too. see how she likes THAT.

i wasn't finished. mad

show up painted up like a floozie, but carry around a copy of miss manners and cite all your friend's breaches of etiquette before she leaves, then while you're babysitting, hold a "manners class" and make her children into really prissy, fussy kids who will endlessly criticize and rile their mother when she returns home. that would be really cute.

My husband didn't even freak out in the least. He said I made it sound worse than it was over the phone, than it actually was.

No, it was weird.

Well, I watched them at my house, and when the mom dropped them off it was fine. Then when they came to pick them up it was fine.

The only thing I got a little freaked about was when her husband pointed out that I had the little girls shoes on the wrong feet. But he laughed and said he does that all the time too.

So all was good and then she called this morning, and asked if I could just be a little more covered up and giggled.

I had on sweats and a t-shirt. I'm not even downplaying it. I had on a shirt and sweats. neutral

I think he was just glad I called and told him.

The one time when I backed into someone with our new Liberty, I didn;'t tell him till 2 days later, and that fired him up a bit.

No way man.

The Amish around here are snobs. They would never ask me to watch their kids.

They do live in an old farmhouse though.

amish people have to be snobs around you or else their god will cast them into a lake of fire and whatnot. it's harsh.

i really want an amish man's hat, though. i think amish men dress sharp.

did the t-shirt have an image of your naked torso silkscreened on it? that could have been part of the problem.
