I feel almost exactly the same here as I feel in real life. Some people know & like me, but mostly I'm fairly anonymous.

I'll never be that person who everyone talks about, but I might be friends with the person everyone talks about.

But it's a weird relationship. You get to feel accepted, and feel like you know people, then realize you've never even met them! Actually I feel close to some of the people who I don't regularly chat with here but have met in real life. As much fun as this place is, it's not a substitute for face to face interaction.

It's kind of like therapy, because you can be intimate and anonymous at the same time. People offer you support, listen to your problems, but since you don't see them at work the next day (except on the monitor) you never have to feel embarassed about what you say.
