Geek Alert! Sweating over Upgrades. Yeah, so I made my first order at www.newegg.com . It's a geeky website for those who are not in the know. My 5c notes worth of upgrades come tomorrow. I'm very excited I ordered 2 sticks of memory (Patriot PC3200 DDR400) with heat sheilding. I ordered a 320GB HD I ordered an analog RCA video digitizer. I ordered an internal universal card reader I ordered a 2 hour battery back up and voltage regulator unit. The first list is comming tomorrow and the second is comming the next day. My system will not have a total of 4 matching mem 1GB sticks. 2 HDs 250 + 320 Gigs News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |

so the memory, hard drive, and rca video adapter came in today.
I pulled the hard drive out of the shipping box. It came in a little plastic bag. I had imagined it would come in a box. The plastic bag came with no instructions nor any cables. I had thought it would come with the required SATA cable. It didn't. Now I have to go out and find one. I found one on newegg. However I'd like to get it tomorrow. Thought about having it shipped overnight. Seems kinda pointless to pay 20 dollars shipping for a 4 dollar piece. Did I get screwed? Don't hard drives come with requiered cables? I did however use the cable that was connected to my system drive. I do know that the HD is functional. I installed the 2- 1GB sticks of memory, but my system only displayed a total of 3GB. I had 2 already. I tested each stick, and they all picked up. Maybe the system for some reason can only display 3GB of mem? News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

I ordered a hard drive before that came like that...just sitting inside the ESD bag and nothing else. If all else fails, the manufacturer's website should have detailed instructions on how to install it. I installed the 2- 1GB sticks of memory, but my system only displayed a total of 3GB.
