Do You Like to Watch Surgery Being Performed on TV?

For me, it's a mixed bag of emotions. I hate to see all the blood and gore, but at the same time, I find myself to be intrigued by it. I go from saying, "Ewwww, how gross!", to intently watching again. lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

no way. i can't even watch the fake surgery on those medical crime shows or on nip/tuck. i have to turn my head. gore is skanky unless it's so cheap and fake and over the top that i can laugh at it for what it is. that i don't mind.

Yeppers, I like to watch anything medical. The only time I had a problem was when we were watching hip replacement surgery. Seeing people cutting into live bone bothers me. They had to cut and grind the bones into shape and then drill holes through them. There were a few times it was hard to watch but it was edumacational so I did watch it all. biggrin

Weird thing is, if I'm at work I'm fine to see the stuff.

Some of the stuff I've seen in the O.R. *whew*, but I cannot STAND to watch it on tv. Creeps me out.

Go figure.

One of the most impressive things I've ever seen on TV was an operation where they added breast implants on a woman. I was most impressed with how perfectly yellow the insides of human breasts are, and how the surgeon treated her open-cut breasts like a bag of peas.

Other than that, hand surgery is also fun to watch if you're not under anesthesia. The doctors told me to to look away, but I told them I'd rather like to see what's happening.

no no no no NO!

I can't take any kind of gore. When I was a little girl my brother used to freak me out bny showing me his scabs where he'd scraped his knee or whatever and I would RUN away SCREAMING and crying. And with tv I simply can't watch.

I don't run away screaming and crying anymore, but I want to.

I dont like it, so tend not to watch it, it makes me feel ill. I dont know how surgeons do it, but I suppose they have a completly different mind set, i.e they're saving lives and also they can be detached and professional about it.

I just had surgery performed on my TV.

It was getting frisky with the other television sets & needed to get fixed.
