Never tried it, to be honest. Although the cafeteria where I work sometimes offers it.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I have a book and even an assortment of spices that were a gift.

I just need to find some time.

What should I try first?

a general kind of curry I guess, my dad tried one once, but instead of buying dessicated coconut, he bought a whole one and put the bamix into it and the kitchen looked like it had snowed in there! eek
I don't have that kind of time anymore and just get the pataks jars boxed

Husband took me to an Indian restaurant in New York City. Ordered everything extra hot. I thought he was trying to kill me.

See, I don't mind a little heat, but if you're somebody who doesn't like that, Indian food doesn't need it. The non-firey seasonings are plenty interesting on their own.

So many people I love and respect say this. I need to give it another chance, cuz I've only had bad experiences with it.

indian food used to make me sick. i don't know what turned me around. i think i just had bad, cheap curry row take-out my first few times. plus, when i first tried indian food, it was so DIFFERENT. i had nothing to compare it to, so it wasn't really pleasurable...just kinda "interesting". i think a good buffet would help. if you can control how much of what you're getting, maybe that would get you more into indian food.

The first time I had it, I didn't quite get the fuss either. Maybe it's a bit of an aquired taste?

I've had some traditional native american foods, but never in a 'restaurant'. I've had them at a pow wow and with friends of mine who are native american. It was mostly flat breads and foods that are adapted from native american and incorporate other influences, like what they call 'indian tacos'.
