no song really takes me to a bad place. some songs have had bad connotations in the past, but those meanings wear off over time, especially if i really like the song. i kinda used to get blue when i'd hear sinead's "black boys on mopeds" because i listened to it over and over the day i found out river phoenix died, but i don't make the connection with that song so much anymore. | |

Leaving New York, by REM, has this weird abstract foreboding quality to it that consistently gets me. I really like the song, but sometimes I have this feeling that it could end up being the theme song to my whole life, and then I get cranky. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1! | |

"They Won't Go When I Go" by Stevie Wonder gets me emotional.
Lots of songs make me go teary-eyed, but it's usually not a sad thing but rather a momentous musical and emotional climax thing, like some of Stevie's vocals on 'Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away', or even when I heard The Roots live it was just so awesome I was overcome (inside, that is. I'm as cold as fuck on the outside  ) | |

Oasis--Champagne Supernova
I saw one of my good friends from high school in a bar about four years after graduation. I couldn't get to her because the place was PACKED. Turns out she was struck by a car crossing the street later that night and killed. | |
