I was out on a first date with this guy. He asked me a question. I began to answer and in the middle of me answering he said, "ok, I'm not longer interested in that." I looked at him. I started to gather my things. He then said,"I'm never going to talk to you again huh?" I said "Nope!" as I walked out.
He actually had the nerve to call.

the master does it so much I don't even bother answering. He usually asks a question on his way out of the room. I sometimes look up, but I don't look up from my book usually.

I don't think I ask many questions. It's more a general diarrhea of the mouth. Or I'll listen to their response and then go on some indefinite monologue about myself in response to the question. Or they'll ask me a question and then that sets me into a senseless ramble. It's like this primordial prehistoric pattern set up in my psyche that I can't control. But it ONLY happens with a couple people and I always feel used afterward. Like you have to explain first WHY you're asking the person, i see. or maybe you just want someone to hear you out about something... Maybe the question's not always necessary, but an introduction to an ensuing dialogue?? You tell me...

those crazy egotistical musician types... who knows? maybe he just thinks aloud? I wouldn't mind so much except he will ask the same thing 3 times, same story each time - I wonder if HE wonders why he doesn't remember the answer?

Oh, I ask people questions just because of courtesy anyway. Mostly I just want to talk about myself and want to hear their voices everynow and then so they just wouldn't leave the conversation.

so you think people might think it rude that I seldom ask questions?

Haha. Well even in all seriousness, people do like it if you ask about their opinion even on matters they have no understanding whatsoever (unless you're just trying to piss them off by lecturing them on metaphysics).

I guess I just feel comfortable with certain people and tend blab on. They're pretty close friends and I don't think they really mind. But sometimes it makes me feel self-conscious, this need to blab.

I read book that said if you want people to really like you and think you're one of greatest people they've ever met, just let them talk about themselves like you're hanging on every word.
