Burning CDs Burnt my first-ever CD the other day with iTunes.
It plays fine in computers, but some CD players are having problems with it (either not playing it at all or skipping/static/can't play some tracks, etc.). Anybody know what's up?

Anybody know what's up? older cd players often have trouble with them but usually it either will play it or it won't; I haven't noticed the skipping/static thing you're talkiing about My Legacy

I've noticed this sometimes recently from certain files on my itunes--when I put cd's onto itunes and listen on my ipod it starts skipping midwy through the playlist, usually getting worse as it went along. I thought it was my ipod, but when I listened to the playlist on my computer it skipped in the same place, so my cd drive had trouble reading it, apparently. Also, if I burned that playlist to cd it would skip in the same places. I think it happens with dirty cd's being read by itunes. Similar to your problem, but you're saying the file/burned cd plays fine on your computer? My Legacy

What's up is that iTunes bites ass. I have the same problem. I burned a CD for my sweetie using iTunes recently; it played back fine on my computer, but it played all fucked up in sweetie's CD player. Get some CD burning software like Nero; you won't be sorry. I'm always burning my favorite CDs.
Just last summer, I left my Best Of The Eagles CD in the front seat of my car while it was parked in the long term parking of O'Hare. By the time I got back, it was warped & melted.

I've experienced the same problem with burned CDs I've received and ones I've burned myself. The start off fine but get static-y near the end. It's worse for longer CDs than for shorter ones.

I've had the same issue. I've just about given up on CDs and just keep everything on my external hard drive and play from there instead.

Similar to your problem, but you're saying the file/burned cd plays fine on your computer? Yes. And the tracks were purchased from iTunes (as opposed to being taken from CDs).

Same here. I don't buy anything from iTunes. 99% of the music on my computer is from my own CDs.

I use Roxio.
Would like to be able to level off the volume between tracks though.

News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Nero burning software is the best.

Nero rocks, although they package it with dare I say "too much" now a days, but the burning program is top notch.
