Just Got Back From Watching Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" In The Theatres!

There wasn't a SINGLE moment where I haven't been on the edge of the seat. It's absolutely the most brilliant movie of 2006. It is the epitome of human strength, and I'm mad it's being ignored in the States because of Mel Gibson's involvement(which is their loss).

Rudy Youngblood(Jaguar) is an amazing actor. Did you know some of the actors in that movie actually spoke the language and didn't have to learn anything? Amazing. Some of them even made their debut in the movie like Jaguar's wife character.

Again, there wasn't a single moment where I haven't been on the edge of the seat. I personally think Mel should take directing as a long-life profession nod

Anybody seen this movie yet?

Did you know that some of your money will help fund Gibson's father's racist "church"?

whatever the fuck mel and his father do in their past time really doesn't effect me, i'm faced with racism on a local basis, daily, so what's some celebrity going to do to me? hmm?

I highly suggest you to nod

I saw the thing by accident. I was late for a show, and we had to take this one instead.

Turned out, this was much BETTER than the former.

This movie REALLY deserves the hype.

It pains me greatly to type these words but that statue was actualy commissioned by our government. It stands on the site of the legendary Battle Of Stirling, where about 30 Scots beat off an army of 80,000 Englishmen. A statue of an racist, alcoholic Australian actor.

Well the movie was excellent. I saw it. And why not?
I can't see how anyone would boycott a "movie" by someones
bout of drunkeness or misadventure that happened to be
"caught" on film! How many times do people use racial
slurs in their homes but not out in public? Doesn't
make it right but the truth behind it is that everyone
has a form of racism in them. America was built on racism.
I just find it comical and hypocritical when people want
to get up in arms about "certain" racism and not all.

Oh, I totally agree! All of Hollywood is racist. nod And I'm totally with you! I mean, there's a flick playing here produced by a dude who supports a chapter of the KKK. Yes, part of my ten bucks potentially helped fund hate crimes, but lighten up! It was wicked-entertaining. nod

Thank you for the honest review! It looks fascinating. I am willing to look past Mel's recent controversy to see this.
