Niagara Falls I have another question now... will 13 hours be enough at Niagara Falls, you reckon? I'll have the whole day from about 7.30am until about 9pm there

I should also explain I've got the choice, really, of going south down to Orlando or New Orleans (unfortunately no time or money to do both ) OR I have the option of going west to Minneapolis and over that way... down to Denver still and then to Vegas...
what do you think is best if I'm trying to make the most of time?

I was in NO pre-Katrina, so can't tell you about that... Apparently the historical centers were more or less preserved.
As for Orlando, I think what you've heard is pretty much correct... I was there a couple of years ago to meet up with my parents.

I'd DEFINATELY love to but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get out to Paisley Park without a car, for one, and again I'm just not going to have the spare money I wish I was travelling with more but I need a whole lot for when I go back to Australia but as for the friends bit, yeah there are definately Minneapolis orgers I'd love to meet

If I go to Minneapolis we'll see what I can come up with thanks for this, by the way

what do you think is best if I'm trying to make the most of time? Go to NC instead where you can catch both Mach and cubic61052 (me!...I'm in Atlanta, but have a summer home in NC). Then proceed to Charleston and Savannah to soak in some Southern history and culture. "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

Natisse said: Ok I'd like to ask the Org's opinion and knowledge, once again... What is it really like in both Orlando and New Orleans? I've heard nothing but good things in the past about New Orlands but Orlando I've heard that there's nothing much there except the theme parks... is that true?
and what's New Orleans like now after Katrina? please don't take that as in insenstive question, it's just that if I don't ask I don't know, right? hoping someone can help... thanks What are ya more interested in? Going and having a good happy time? Or going and hearing/seeing all about Katrina?

I was just asking about what's happened to the City after Katrina, that's all... it wasn't meant in any bad or negative way at all

But (just bein' honest, not insensitive at ALL)) if ya go to New Orleans your most likely gonna get a bunch of depressing tours and story's. If ya go to Orlando you'll have fun. Theres more than theme parks too.

Theres more than theme parks too. True about New Orleans. I live just east of N.O. The crime rate has skyrocketed, too. The murder rate is so high that there may be a curfew. And yeah, Orlando doesn't have much to offer except the Theme Parks, but those are a blast. You'll have a great time, but count on it being expensive.

I can imagine they would...but if I went to Orlando I'd most want to visit Cape Kernavral (sp) I've heard it's absolutely amazing to see! my friends were there and could have seen a live launch but the weather was really bad and it was called off. needless to say they were beyond disappointed.

...and I've just seen that a 15 day train pass is roughly £155 as opposed to a 15 day Greyhound pass which is £217
