Oh, oh. I can't imagine what Americans get out watching these two self-satisfied cunts making each other guffaw. Perception's arrow is made of balsa wood when it comes to the mass fawning over this turd, man. Then again, I'm not the easiest punter to please, so it's probably hilarious stuff and I should stop reading so many Third Reich books. "It's so refreshingly un-PC!" "Oh, fuck off." Never found Monty Python funny either. Just a bunch of rich kids dressing up, condecending and patronising the (lesser, of course) masses with silly voices and horribly obvious fingertip grasps upon the slippery ledge of wit. Pish that David Bowie wouldn't drink in 77.

They are self-satisfied cunts, it is a perfect way to describe them..if only we found them as funny as they find themselves.

Maybe I've just been ground down into an apathetic husk. I see people with disabilites, perversions, bladder problems and tombstone teeth everytime I step outside the front door.

I went back to the UK and saw this for the first time. Didn't find it funny at all. As a point of reference I find Brass Eye and The Day Today hilarious. I also like Only Fools And Horses and Jimmy Carr's stand-up.

Fuck off the guys from Little Britain (David Walliams? Is that a typo? And that bald guy who was a baby on Shooting Stars? shrug ) and give me Chris Morris and Armando Ianucci.

i might as well come out of the brit comedy closet and confess that i've never found monty python all that funny. clever, sure. witty, okay. but i've only laughed out loud at a couple of things i've seen by them. boxed

meanwhile, with little britain, i don't know if all of the bile from this thread is justified, but i do think they got really lazy really fast after doing an initial six or so episodes that were really good. i just wish they'd do the obligatory cash-in movie and get it over with and move on.

Ive just never got Little Britain.

Britain hasnt had a decent sketch show since The Fast Show.

I enjoyed "That Mitchell and Webb Look" - but not many people saw it I don't think.

You should watch The Mighty Boosh; that's funny, though not a sketch show.

yes, that's a very cute show. the humor is a little toothless, but everything doesn't have to be biting satire. i think it's very watchable, not to mention i like dawn french in just about anything.

Sometimes I'll be walking down the street or something and a line from The Day Today or Brass Eye will pop into my head and make me laugh out loud.

When he tucks his children into the cabinet. lol

That paedophilia special is just about the most incredible piece of television I've ever seen. That's real daring, not these cosy sketch shows.

Some parts of the Brass Eye Paedophilia special for anyone who cares to check it out. It's certainly interesting satirical comedy. smile

http://www.youtube.com/wa...Rz7UWsBl54

http://www.youtube.com/wa...RZo8CHsgp8

From wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass_Eye

In 2001, the series was repeated, along with a new and entirely original extra show, which tackled the tricky subject of paedophilia and the associated moral panic prevalent in parts of the British media at the time following the death of Sarah Payne focused on the controversial 'name and shame' campaign of the News of the World. This included an incident in 2000, in which a paediatrician in Newport had the word 'PAEDO' daubed in yellow paint on her home. [2]

...The show caused a furore among sections of the British tabloid press. The Daily Star printed an article decrying Morris and the show next to a piece about the then 15-year-old singer Charlotte Church's breasts under the headline "She's a big girl now"[4]. The Daily Mail featured pictures of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who were 13 and 11 at the time respectively, in their bikinis next to a headline describing Brass Eye as "Unspeakably Sick". Defenders of the show argued that the media reaction to the show reinforced its satire of the media's artificial hysteria and hypocrisy on the subject of paedophilia.

the lotr rings one was great. so was the gone with the wind and the silence of the lambs and the kill bill.

the cold mountain was okay. great parody of renee and nicole, but it's hard to mock a mediocre movie.
