Okay, so I talked to two friends about this last nite.

My one friend admitted that she has to visualize her husband being rough, or go back to when they were in collage and he was just using her, in order to get off. I told her I'm the same way, and that if a guy tells me he loves me, like in the middle of it all, it totally turns me off. I have to tune it out.

Well, my other friend, was looking at us like we had horns on our head. She didn't add any input whatsoever into the conversation, but it was in the middle of WalMart, and all she said was,

"OMG, were in the middle of Wal Mart, could you's wait till we get to Ruby Tuesdays to talk about this?!?!!?"

She seemed really irritated and embarrased by it all.

as far as i'm concerned, there's maintenance sex and there's event sex.

maintenance sex is at the end of the day when both people are tired and frazzled but a little horny, and you just diddle with each other then go to sleep after the big bangs occur. no big whoop. no slings. no costumes. just TCB and good night.

event sex is like when you want to try something new or do it special or act out a barry white song or get all crazy and bring out the trampoline and the wax vampire teeth and whatnot.

for me, the lovey dovey stuff is kind of a subtextual thread that runs through both kinds of sex - because the love is there, you can get it on both in a highbrow or lowbrow kinda way. you just enjoy each other that way and are comfortable just to make someone feel good. it doesn't have to be all rose petals on the pillow and champagne in the tub, not that there's anything wrong with that

Maybe I'm totally weird, but I don't express my feeling of love for someone through sex and I don't find it arousing when someone does that to me.

To me sex is very animalistic and very natural and raw and really doesn't have much to do with love. Yes, you are doing it with someone you love, but it's not an expression of love (in my books, of course).

All that lovey-dovey stuff can be awesome, just not in the bedroom.
