Like Zombie said its pastry crust on the bottom, so in actuality in N.America we would call it a tart instead of a cake. I can vouch that it is YUMMMMMY. They make it like mad here in Germany, usually during fall. Plums are completely in season and less than $1 USD per lb. then, so everywhere you go in the bakeries or even just visiting friends who know how to bake, this is a standard cake/tart to eat at that time. Also, as it is a tart you can do it with all sorts of fruits, my other favorites are blueberry and strawberry. That's why after the holidays I have to FORCE myself to go to the gym, all these good tarts make your booty spread:lol: | |
