Okay. I'm not gonna mention names, but I'd like to pick the brains of the people who act like they're happy all the time and have the perfect lives and have the answers for everything. People like that rub me the wrong way and I sometimes wonder what in the hell makes them feel like they need to act the way they do.

nod There's a good answer.

When I've picked happy-go-lucky-super-positive people's brains I tend to find they're either incredibly ignorant/naive, which is why they're happy, or they're deeply insecure and very depressed and are presenting a happy face to convince themselves otherwise.

I'm guessing that some orgers probably don't care to discuss personal problems online with strangers, whereas for others this seems ideal because they believe they get more objective opinions. Might be as simple as that.

I've only ever picked people's brains in real life, so I really don't know there.

I know enough to piss me off, yes. lol

Mainly because I'm in a totally christian environment and they all feel very secure and self-satisfied because of their faith, but when you really ask them, or challenge their beliefs (so many people don't know enough about christianity to be true christians), they are really quite insecure. I've been doing so much research into religion though, and all I can say is it's made me in about 6 years from an atheist to an agnostic erring towards christianity (but not in any form you'll see in the church).

good on you for making the effort to understand a different point of view.

lots of people are insecure for lots of reasons. most people are at least a little bit insecure, i think.

Me?

Number23

Why?

Because as much as people tell me he's nothing like his Org persona in real life (which is fucking obvious, by the way), he still has that weird, bullshitting theologian within him, and I'd like to talk to it and discuss things whilst simultaneously getting drunk with him and ranting about other, meaningless trivialities.

I'd also like to have sex with him.

Ditto on everything you posted here. razz
