Loved the series...Kyle McLachlin's was funny as hell as Agent Cooper and the series definitely had a vibe like no other.

Ironically, there used to be a strip club a few miles away named Twin Peaks but I am fairly certain there was no tie-in with the show.

Introducing me to this show is one of the few good things that an ex of mine ever did for me. biggrin I loved both the series and the Fire Walk With Me film.

Hot girls, a complex plot and random dwarves...what more could you ask for?

The second season isn't out until April. The first season has been out for a long time.

I loved Twin Peaks back in the day... i bought the 1st season box set, but haven't watched it yet. Where is the pilot episode!?!?! Supposedly you can buy it seperately as an import, and it wasn't included because of licensing issues, but jeez... what a pain.

No show I've ever seen could make me laugh so hard and scare the living ish out of me in the same episode. It was brilliant.

Coop's dream in the 3rd(?) episode spells out the entire course of events with Laura's death, amazing.

The scene where Bob makes good on his promise 2 kill again is killed gets me teary every time I see it.

Bob freaks me with f**K out, even after all these years. The scene where Maddy sees him 4 the 1st time is possibly the freakiest scene ever.

and "Fire Walk with Me" is teh awesome.

I keep saying and no one listens.... IT IS OUT. YOU CAN GET IT. With a little research on Amazon or Ebay, you can buy the correct pilot. I know, because I have it. My friend who doesn't know Imort from Pal or NTSC bought me the pilot on Amazon and it was the correct one.

The reason you will never (well maybe not ever) see it with the series is because a different company owns the rights.

It has not been officially released in the States. You can buy an import of it, but I've read that the quality sucks.

The quality is FINE. It's better than nothing. You guys don't seem to get that this is going to be as good as it gets with this release. DO you know how long the wait has been for TP (Season 2) on DVD? About 6 years. I know many fans who are rejoicing regarding a date being set. So just get over it and get the Import (It is all region NTSC format even though it is an import)

If Quality is an issue you may just want to skip the entire thing as the quality on the Series One is spotty. But as I said it is better than nothing or the VHS tapes that are all gummed up by now. The sources they have aren't the best.

Simmer down!

An official release of the pilot is coming. Season 2 was held up for the all the same reasons, but a re-release of season 1 with the pilot is in the works.

I haven't heard anything but good about the quality of the first season discs. Except for some complaints about copy-protection software on the discs messing up some computers.

And paying too much for a shitty quality 2-hour import is not better than nothing, in my opinion.

There is also rumored to be a new version of "Fire Walk with Me" coming out this summer that's like 4 hours long or something, with the David Bowie stuff all fleshed out and Coop's backstory revealed, including why he's already considered a nutball before the events of the series. They alluded to it in the show, about his girlfriend's murder and all that.

Well folks are going to be paying a boatload now as these were released years ago and they never made more copies. You can't even find Season One in the store anymore. Amazon is selling Season One used for almost 100 bucks. Ebay...about 90.

Not sure where you heard the re-release of Season One with the Pilot. That's news to me and I have been keeping up with this for quite a few years now. TVonDVD.com is a really good source for this info and I haven't heard a peep except for the Season 2 news and Cover art which they got right away. Personally, I would not hold my breath on any re-release. Maybe the pilot will get a better treatment and get re-released. But that's only if the current Company has the rights to the Pilot. If there is one thing that has riddled and plagued TP it is the various companies that have held the rights to the show.

The issues on the DVD Season One are minor (as I believe the Pilot to be as well...Mine is NOT tinny nor chipmunking or anything bad). The sound isn't super clear always. SOme marks here and there and you can see slight lines at the top (I think the source material for these is Laserdisc), But as I said very minor and barely noticable. And there it's a crap shoot if you get a "previously on TP". Actually come to think of it the sound issues I noticed were with the "Log Lady Introductions" which are lower in volume that the show.

Again I have not heard anything regarding the pilot getting re-released. If you have a link to that news source, I'd like to check it out, as that would be news of interest to me.

A link to this info would be very nice. FWWM is ANOTHER ball of wax in trying to get the nearly 1 1/2 hours of cut material either put back in or in an extra somewhere. Apparently the extra footage showed MANY of the TV characters missing from the movie

However, Lynch has gone on record saying that the released version is *his* version. if the scenes are ever included on a dvd it will be as extras (and not incorporated in the finished film).

Lynch has been going back and forth with the various studio's who had/have rights to releasing FWWM over how much money they will let him spend to finish the scenes (sound, editing, score). Lynch wants them to be match the quality of the film itself and is refusing to release the scenes until he has the money to make them such....

the script of the film can be found on that website...i read it a few years back...the deleted scenes add nothing to the film. however, they do close all the loose strings of the tv show.

That was an interesting read. It's been a long time since the "Twin Peak" days when a group of us would get all messed up and watch that show. Must have seen the entire series at least 10 times. No Sherrif Truman in FWWM though. mad I'll read that script when I have time.

I don't know where I read that about the extended FWWM and the Season 1 w/ Pilot dvds, but there'll be news about it soon. Lynch is beginning promo rounds for his new film ("Inland Empire") and he's sure to be asked about it. Anyway, I have read in several places that Paramount now owns all the rights to "Peaks" distribution, and that's what has been holding up the release of the Pilot and Season 2 in the States. I'll send some links when I come across them again.

I still have Laura's Diary around here somewhere...
[Edited 1/4/07 17:30pm]

David Lynch will be hosting a viewing of his new film for "Ain't It Cool News" on January 24 in Austin, with a Q&A. The future of Peaks is sure to come up. It's discussed on that site pretty often.

I'm not that old, but yeah. And when I say "messed up," I mean all kinds of ways. biggrin Those were the days.

Bob was some freaky shit.

Also, I didn't watch it when it was first broadcast. I shared a house with some guys who owned the whole thing on VHS.

I loved about all the characters. My favorites were Nadine (the chic with the patch that was always screaming at her husband), Audrey, Margaret the Log Lady, Major Briggs, and Laura's hysterical mother. Oh yeah, and Lucy. biggrin
