The best Indian food I ever had was in Japan, in Kyoto. I was starving (really really hungry!!!) because the Japanese just don't get the concept of vegetarianism and it is very hard to find food I can eat there. But once I found an Indian restaurant, I was a happy man... I swear, it was like finding a bottle of Evian in the Sahara ...

I LOOOVE INDIAN FOOD 2!!!

But I don't like too much cumin. I have this awesome recipe book and I usually hold back on the cumin, but I add extra curry, ginger and peppers! Yum yum yum!

Favourite dishes would be bombay aloo, aloo gobi, tarka dal ... any dal dishes basically.[/quote]

I've had the dal dishes ...but am not familiar with bombay aloo or aloo gobi. Please describe!

I really enjoy the Indian vegetarian buffets, but most of the time they are only available at lunch time and not close to where I work.

Well bombay aloo is basically potato with a spicy curry sauce, cumin, garlic, coriander and maybe onion (?). Really spicy, really nice (especially if you like potatoes, and since I'm Irish I do!). Aloo gobi is potatoes and cauliflower curry... nice!

I love lentil dishes and spinach dishes too.. mmm I'm gettin hungry now!

I ADORE Indian food. My best friend growing up was of Indian ethnicity and I was at an early age exposed to the wonders of Indian cuisine. There were some things that were too spicy or foreign to me then, but I grew to appreciate and love them. I don't go a week without hitting up the Indian buffet here in Salt Lake. smile
