Talking about what an asshole he is does not make the photos disappear, though. Stop posing for naked pics if you cannot handle the possibility that someone other that those it was intended for will see it. If you're with a guy who can be trusted not to do that, someone else could find them and put them out there. All this talk about the human form and prudishness yada yada yada does not mean anything to a woman who does not want strangers looking at her naked body and can't do anything about it now. Personal accountability is the thing here. You can't control how someone else behaves but you can certainly make decisions for yourself to protect you from this kind of embarrassment.

I'd say you're right, even though I do believe that us oldies can do a little bit more than just hope for the best. I think that by now we have at least a pretty decent idea of how well we can trust our own ability to decide of people are reliable or not. If we know that we're usually wrong or that it's totally random, then it's probably better to play it safe. If we on the other hand have a good gut feeling that we've been able to trust in the past, then I think the chances are pretty good that we can go ahead and have our fun. Ultimately you're right though; it's close to impossible to eliminate all risk of misjudgment, and that is why I think we should consider what I mentioned in my previous post.

Hindsight is 20/20, of course; but a third option (other than take them or don't take them) would have been for her to keep possession of the photographs.

This sounds like the Miss North Carolina fiasco. She broke it off with her asshole boyfriend and after she won the crown he took it to the pageant folks. She was stripped of her crown...i think i shall find the story. the pics werent nude, she was just getting dressed and being cute....hold please

LUMBERTON, N.C. - The ex-boyfriend of a former Miss North Carolina was ordered to pay her $11,000 in damages Friday for causing her to lose her crown by revealing he had topless photos of the beauty queen.

A jury ruled that Tosh Welch should pay Rebekah Revels $3,000 in compensatory damages and $8,000 in punitive damages.

State pageant officials stripped Revels of her title in 2002 after Welch sent an e-mail saying he had compromising photos of her.

Revels said she lost up to $30,000 in appearance fees, the free use of a car for a year and a $10,000 gift from the city of Fayetteville.

The jury deliberated just under two hours Thursday before deciding that Welch interfered with Revels' contract as Miss North Carolina and with her potential contract with the Miss America organization. The jury rejected a claim that he intentionally inflicted emotional distress.




Revels, 25, now works in public relations for her native Lumbee tribe and hopes to launch a singing career. She said the lawsuit was never about the money.

"My happiest moment was yesterday," she said, referring to the jury's ruling that Welch was liable for the e-mail.

Welch, who earns $33,000 a year as a police officer on an Indian reservation, said of the award: "I was pleased. I just want to go back to Cherokee and go back to work."
