I've been poor, shit, I've been homeless. 4 about 3 months. Sparechanging at 7-11 4 change 2 get hotdogs and strawberry Quik (mostly beer) Selling my plasma 4 food. handout food and clothes at the churches, sleeping in parks, under highways, down by the river, apt. bldg basements. It was a good time actually, wouldn't do it again though. I was young then.
B4 all that I was poor with my family in the islands. (3rd world y'all) I had 2 fight people if we ever got a box of cereal that was NOT CornFlakes. Cap'n Crunch in the house...oh shit!!! U better take that and hide it somewhere. How many times did my mom have 2 sew up the same shirts and pants cause new ones were NOT coming any time soon??? Toys? Nope! Just books and the toys I found in nature. I'm not poor now, comparitively, but definitely not as well off as I'd like 2 B. -------------------------------------------------

Berry said:[quote]Food stamps. My mom would make me go into the store and buy food with them, god how I hated that. Our neighbors used to feed me because they felt sorry for me. Other kids teased me really bad. I remember watching all my friends out of my window leaving to go to Great America (theme park), and I couldn't go because my mom didn't have the money. I cried for hours.
Singing my song dear lady! We were so poor, we ate sugar sandwiches for dinner. My socks had big holes in them, sometimes I had to put rubber bands around the top to hold them up..I would even steal fruit from the store to give my baby brothers. I have been working since 10 years old, I promised myself that as an adult I would never live that life..And to this day when I see a poor child I will give them what I can. But on the brighter side I had a fairy godmother! Really, I never knew who she was, neither did my mom. Mr. Valdez was the go between...She saw me one day when I was a child and fell in love with me...Every holiday she would send me the most beautiful gifts..One Easter she sent me this beautiful dress, the gift was wrapped with dimes..I tried as an adult to find this person to thank them for giving to me so unselfishly..I never found her and I never forget to give to others the kindness she gave to me... ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

All of your stories are inspiring. At first glance, a reader might feel sorry 4 u. But you all turned out to be strong and intelligent people and that's lacking in alot of people who consider themselves to be wealthy. I wish you all peace and prosperity.
