Laptop problems Help!!

My laptop will not switch on, I have taken the battery out and put it back in then tried to charge it and it still will not switch on. Next I kept the battery out for half hour with the electrical cable inserted, then I put the battery in and left charging for two hours but it still will not switch on.
When the battery is out I press power on I get the light for 20 seconds yet if I place the battery back in it doesn’t do this, I just do not get it mad
Have any of you came across this problem before and what did you do to fix it.

Power supply failure, maybe?

I mean the internal power supply, not the battery or cable.

Dunno. Kinda sounds like a hardware thing that you're gonna need a pro to fix, but who knows. shrug

are you saying your laptop will not power on with the battery?

If your laptop will power on conncted to power, but will not power on with just battery alone, it's because the battery has fried. That happens.

Batteries die, that's not uncommon.

If that is the case, then you need get yourself a new battery.

I stongly sudgest ebay.

That's where I bought my replacement battery for laptop computer when my battery fried.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

The battery and power supply are not getting warm at all normally they do. I have only had it since Sept and got it on charge now and will leave it charging over night then try again in the morning if it doesn’t work then I will return it to the shop.

Right, and there's another part of the power supply system that is totally internal, and it's not uncommon for it to fail (and it can fail in sort of random ways, like coming on a little bit when the cable is plugged in but not at all with the battery in, like you described). It's fixable, but not by you.

I have been right through the Sony help section and they have nothing that I can see about it, I did notice that they where replacing batteries but has nothing to do with this laptop. I wouldn’t even attempt messing with it I don’t mind messing with windows but not the internal components.

My wife got a laptop from work about a year ago. She plugged it in and used it for about 5 minutes, and it shut off on her. We tried starting it again with the power supply plugged into it and with just the battery, and there was nothing either way. I charged up the battery and tried again in the morning. Nothing. After debating whether to do it or not, I opened it up and found that a capacitor on the motherboard had blown. It fried so well that it burned a hole into the board a few layers, thus ending any thoughts of trying to get it working ever again.

Hopefully this isn't the case with your board. At least you have some indication that there's still some power getting through on yours.
