i go there to get a cheep TV. (like $60 for 20") and it was packed. so i wait in line for about 20 minutes... not too bad. but then there was a long line to get out. i was like "What is this for?" the lady said "they are checking receipts" and i said "not mine" and i just wheeled around... they called for me to stop but i just kept going... i will be damned if i am going to wait in line to get out of a store. i though they would follow me... or that a few other line waiters would follow me...but as far as i could tell...no one did.

but damn that was MY tv and my recipt they have ZERO right to check it.

I would have done the same exact thing. I have a friend that's in management for wally world, did you know you can basically steal about anything from that store, right in front of their faces? I'll have to ask him the official policy again, but it's true.

I almost took a job at walmart, because of it's proximity to my house. when I got the package of health benefits, i said, thanks, but no thanks

It's going to be packed. It's all the other Christmas shoppers.

By me Walmart decided to have 2 of their stores open 24/7 just for xmas shoppers. And the employees get paid extra.

I have never tried it, just can't see myself shopping for gifts at 2:00 a.m.

isnt that like kidnapping, (refusing to let you go) I would tell them to call the law whilst I would call my brief.

you can't get out of a BestBuy or Circuit City without showing your receipt.

that was pretty rude, IMO. it's their way of keeping theft down.

I think it may depend on what you buy there. I've had them check receipts at Best Buy before, but I haven't in quite a while.

As for WalMart, I'd say it's a precautionary measure against theft since they're having so many people in and out of their doors the past month. They do it all the time at Sam's Club. But if there's a long line for leaving the store, they'd better get more employees helping out because I don't want to wait that long just to get out of a damn store.
