Not when you're pushing 350. Then it's probably better to be a little less great and a little more connected to your teeth! smile

Of course. I'll throw in the occasional whip too for good measure. You'd better be prepared.

I logged on this morning b/c when I woke up my father had left a note saying he & my mother had to take my 87 y.o. grandmother to the emergency room. (She was got sick on Saturday at Christmas dinner #1. confused ) So I was bored...logged on and saw that James Brown had passed away...sad Then had to clean the house, do laundry, and try to get ready for dinner before my brother, sis-in-law, two kids and my other grandparents showed up... didn't quite make it. neutral They showed up before my parents returned and are SUPER impatient...expected dinner at 5pm (who the fuck eats that early anyway?--I don't even get off work until 5:30pm).

It was the most chaotic, hectic xmas dinner ever, complete with a 4 y.o. & 2 y.o. ripping presents open and high on sugar. After every one left me & the p's had a few drinks and played cards. Now they are sleeping and I'm bored so I thought I'd check in one last time before I go to bed...

Retina, sorry you had a shitty xmas...mine was a pretty much a bust, too. But look on the bright side...it's finally OVER! party

I'm catsitting, so I had to come home tonight at a reasonable hour to take care of him.

It's ok. I'm tired. I'm still getting over a cold, and I'm feeling overextended. Wish I were with my girl tonight, but it'll be nice to just SLEEP.

nuts Oh, how wonderful it is when people insist on sticking with routines even when it means cardiac arrest for somebody else. nuts

How is your grandma doing now?

Yeah, almost. I still have to go to a boxing day turkey dinner at grandma's place where all the fighters from the other day will gather again, so it might be hell. But then it will be over. woot!

comfort

I had to drive my aunt and her cat to the vet clinic on the 23rd, after the cat had fallen off the balcony and smashed into the ground three stories down (it's the third time it happens, you would think my aunt would keep the door closed now rolleyes).

So watch out, those felines can be sneaky and they don't always learn from their mistakes. "Oh, a balcony, what a great springboard. Wheeeee!" confused

JasmineFire: Aww sorry to hear that. What is it with Christmases and people losing their temper? Is it the year's accumulated stress combined with some unfortunate comments when people get a bit too merry? Or maybe it's the pressure that everything should be so joyful that it backfires? Anyway, thanks for caring and I'm glad your Christmas is going well this time.

I think that's exactly it. people build up all these expectations and then get super let down when even one wrong thing happens. I mean, people even expect it to snow on Christmas and get upset if it doesn't! Christmas is crazy and it really doesn't have to be. confused

Well, it's all over now. hug I hope you are feeling better.

I feel for you and am truly sorry.

This always happens to me too when I spend time with family at Christmas, well one side of the family that is. nod We're talking major hysterics, screaming, tears, and d-r-a-m-a. I won't be caught dead spending the holiday with those folks again. If I see them, I go in January after the holidays are o-v-e-r. And now I can say I had a very sweet Christmas!

Thanks for asking...she is a bit better, but at 87 she is just very weak normally so she got the flu and got really dehydrated. The thing that was the most annoying is that my dad, mom, and aunt spent all day at the emergency room with her and my aunt knew that we were having (immediate) family xmas yet she insisted that my parents stay at the hospital too. (She was done with her christmas-es.) I thought that was rude--she should have let my parents leave but whatever.

Yeah, almost. I still have to go to a boxing day turkey dinner at grandma's place where all the fighters from the other day will gather again, so it might be hell. But then it will be over. woot!

Hope today wasn't too terrible...but now it's really over, right? smile
