My family never did that, but a couple of wierd Christmas quirks
1) My mom gets up at the butt crack of dawn on Dec 26, and forces us to take her shopping all over town for 1/2 off Christmas cards (for the next year ) 2) My mom makes a bunch of fruitcake which we never eat. She thinks her fruitcake is delicious, and she's totally proud of it. 3) I open presents like I'm performing surgery . The wrapping paper always looks so well done when it's not me that wraps it, so I feel so guilty taking the present apart.

Everytime whether it was a Christmas gift or a Birthday, my mom would grab the paper to keep for using again. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

My mom saves the bows/ribbons but not the paper.
We have to go to my grandparents for xmas eve dinner every year and we use plastic/"paper" plates. My grandmother washes the plates and uses them again. (I stopped eating dinner there a couple years back--I eat before I go so I'm not hungry when I get there.) [Edited 12/24/06 21:40pm]

Stick that in your conservative craw!
