Partners from hell We've all heard stories about partners from hell and relationships that crash and burn, right? Well, I've heard a few pretty crazy stories lately that I thought I'd share:
1. Tina, a friend of a friend, had been together with her boyfriend for three years when suddenly one night, when he's supposed to be out partying with his friends and she's about to go to bed, she goes over to the window to close the curtains and suddenly spots her boyfriend in an apartment across the street, in the arms of another woman no less. She calls his cell phone and he answers, turns to the window and realizes that he's been caught. He claims that this has only happened this one time, that it will never happen again and blah blah. She dumps him. Fast forward to one week later and she notices a big truck in the street below the window. It's the now ex boyfriend moving in with the girl he was cheating on Tina with... 2. The very same Tina, a few months later, is checking out a construction worker that does renovation work in her building. He doesn't seem to notice the looks she gives him, but one day her doorbell rings and there he is, asking her out. A lengthy romance ensues, and they eventually more or less end up living together, sometimes in his apartment, sometimes in hers. Then one day her phone rings and a woman is asking if Tina knows (the guys name). Tina says yes and the woman starts to cry, and tells Tina that this guy has been her boyfriend for the past four years... Apparently the apartment Tina thought belonged to the guy wasn't his at all but belonged to a friend of his and he's lived a double life the whole time. Tina calls him and confronts him with this information, to which he responds "you bitch, you've ruined my life, I'm going to kill you". 3. Just today my friend M told me about her ex boyfriend who had one day asked if he could speak to her in private. So he takes her into a separate room, closes the door and starts listing all the things that are not going so well in her life. He seems very concerned the whole time and M of course expects the punchline to be suggestions for how to deal with these things. But instead he declares that he's come to the conclusion that it's probably for the best if she kills herself. He adds that he would miss her very much and that it would become a very rough time for him, but he feels that it would be for the best. What stories do you have or have you heard about partners from hell? .

Well, my roomate lives an interesting life, but I'm still trying to figure it out.
We have little or nothing to do with each other on purpose. We're both men in our 30's and professionals. I own the house and rent out two rooms to him strictly as a living arrangement and to make some money--no friendship whatsoever in the arrangement. Anyways, he's been at my house for two years, and I couldn't help but noticed that he's been jugging 3 girls, who I barely see so I dont' have clear visual images of them other than they are kind of homely. Sunday night through Wed, a girl who drives a blue dodge neon sleeps over. On Thursday, Friday, and saturday night, a girl in a silver truck sleeps over. And on Saturday morning, he spends time with another girl in a red jeep. It's very wierd. And the thing is, from observation and some guessing with my super nosey sister, I think 2 of the girls don't know anything about the others. How he juggles them I do not know. I've already had a girl slash her wrists in my driveway, so I don't need anymore drama.

What the fuck! Story number 3??? You know if "M"'s okay? She didn't take that stupid idiot's advice in her vulnerable state did she? "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

This happened quite some time ago but it wasn't until now that she told me about it. She's been seeing a therapist for a while and seems to be coping well under the circumstances. I'm just happy that she wasn't vulnerable and fragile enough to actually do it back then. I'm sure a lot of people would have done it, especially if they were deeply depressed and especially since it was the person that was supposed to care about them the most that said it.

If I were you, even though I wouldn't really have any real obligation to say something, I would feel weird about just watching the whole thing. On the other hand, I guess you don't know anything for sure. Supernosey sisters usually have very good intuition though.

I ones went to this place where they help youth with problems. I told this social worker that I didn't know what was wrong, but that all I wanted to do is end my life. I asked if maybe he could help me figure out what was wrong with me. His answer: Well if you don't know, how am I supposed to know? If killing yourself is what you wanna do maybe you should just do it. The church next door is open, climb the tower and jump if you want. Problem solved. I went in to total shock, didn't know what to do for days and really considered for a while if I should do it. Sick basterd!

I only watch the entire affair with casual curiosity. I'm mostly curious as to why they'd all be attracted to a guy in his mid 30's who can only afford to rent out one room in a small/moderate sized house with my roomates looks (I wouldn't fuck him if I were so inclined). I'm not being mean, but he's rolling in chicks and he's ain't all that. Normally, I'd point to personality, but he's got a unactractive personality too. Very nerdyish. He's like the guy that hangs out with you at the bar, but won't shut up. He's an awsome roomate as well, so I'm not inclined to get into his business. He leaves me alone and vice versa. We almost NEVER talk to each other, and he's extremely quiet at night.

He probably thought he was going to make you see how silly the idea of killing yourself was by saying what he did, or maybe he was just completely indifferent. Either way it's a bloody insensitive and careless thing to say, especially coming from a social worker.

There's a Swedish word; "lagom", that is very difficult to translate but it basically means "not too much or too little of anything, but just right for the situation and person in question" or you could simply translate it as "just right", but that doesn't quite cut it. Anyway, I think this guy might be lagom. James, an old friend of mine, was exactly such a guy and lots of girls went for him too. It's an interesting phenomenon. .
