That freezing rain is dangerous. Not just because of the roads, but when it sticks to trees, it weighs down on the branches and causes large sections to break off and come crashing down.
I used to drive a Mustang, which is rear wheel drive, it basically would turn into a $30,000 sled on days like these. After a while, you get used to saying Hail Mary's anytime you approach an intersection or stop sign...

Just wear your seat belt Carrie, and if the airbag goes off, for God's sake, Cover your face!

I drove around on some errands this morning while it was raining and that was stressful enough. These are a few pictures I just snapped from my back porch. The high rise in the background of the third picture is where those blasted poor folk live.
Beautiful pics!! |

Thanks! Two more from about an hour ago: Drive carefully, Carrie! You know how dumb your average Minnesota driver is - go real slow when it's raining, drive faster than fuck when it snows. I don't get it.

Ex-Moderator | I'm home safe now!
It only took twice as long as usual (an hour instead of 30 minutes). It was relatively ok, except 3 different times someone passed me on one side or the other and sprayed so much junk on my windshield I couldn't see for 10 seconds. I almost had a heart attack every time. I was planning to finish my Xmas shopping tonight, so I guess that means everyone gets gift cards this year cause I'm not getting back in my car today. |
