Xmas dilemma

My niece has been begging me to come to her choir concert this evening. And normally I'm a very supportive aunt - I've been to many choir concerts, school plays, etc. But the reason she wants me to come so badly to this particular performance is that it is the annual Christmas concert. There is a tradition that the top 2 choirs close out the night with the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah and she's quite excited about the performance. There's another tradition that goes along with that, in that all choir alumni are invited to join them on stage to sing. She goes to the same high school I went to.

She wants me to get up on stage with her and SING! omg

I haven't sung since I left that place. lol I told her I know how to sing it anymore and she assured me there would be sheet music to read from and her director said that singing the Hallelujah chorus is like riding a bike, you just don't forget.
But I don't want to make an ass of myself!

Oh, what to do....

Do it.....it will come back to you, and if it doesn't, just lip-synch!

Sing very quietly until you know you can do it?
Plead a sore throat?

Do it and tell her that it's part of your present to her?

Sounds like she's counting on you. If it was me, I'd sing very quietly for the whole ordeal. I would be very unhappy but I'd do it.

Everyone else will be singing so loud, that who would know?

And it will make your niece happy - what more could you want than to see her smile? nod

so is everyone singing at the same time or do you and your
niece have to step up and do it as a duo?

if so, i would reconsider, lol. although it could still be
fun. think of your cousin who'll be all alone up there if
you don't go

mr.green

and if everyone just gets up there to sing you can just do
some heavy lipsynchin and check for cute christian dudes on
the front row isles
