This is an end of the year "Best of" thread... it is where it should be. hmph!

If this is not site discussion then I don't know what is. And what the hell is up with the post massacre? Do threads created by moderators play by different rules all of a sudden? confused

Yes, they do. That's why they're mods and we're not. mr.green

How is life unfair today? Well, lots of people would like to have their threads stay on topic, and of course that's never what happens. If you're a mod, you can do something about it.

Hey, it's a volunteer position. Being a control freak about your own threads is one of the few perks of the job. shrug

Well if all the moderators took advantage of those "perks", this place would be empty of people in no time at all. shrug

Nah. Do people REALLY care what a handful of users do with their threads? Not that I've never been irritated with mods -- I sure as hell have -- but I'm not worried about them going all powercrazy and destroying the org as we know it. confused

I'm not just talking about their own threads, we've seen examples of abuse of power by the mods in the past where they've deleted posts and locked threads all over the place. Today it's only lock4u and june7 that are overly trigger happy, but it still bugs me to see this kind of behaviour. Just my opinion. shrug

hah! lock4u

I guess my point is that it's not an "abuse" of power. It's a use of power. Their power, as per site rules, is essentially total and absolute. That's just how it is. shrug

But I understand your frustraion.

[Well - it is what it is. Y'know - this place used to be a lot more fun. I've posted 'best of' threads for several years in this forum before, and it's never even been an issue. This was before I was even a Mod. Now, I actually wanted this thread to stay on topic and, y'know, be about the 'best of' of 2006.

Instead, constant bitching and frustration took over.

So, fuck it. lock ]
