Sheetz gas stations are now selling "Winter Wonderland" ground coffee for like $4 a bag. I picked some up for the hell of it and it was surprisingly good. My coworkers loved it. I thought it was nice, kinda cinnamon/vanilla tasting, but not overpowering.

Meanwhile back home, I've been struggling with my Cuisinart, to get a decent pot of coffee. I like Seattle's Best and Starbucks, but every time I make them at home they taste like crap, they have a burnt bitter smell/taste to them. I thought it might be the charcoal filter the Cuisinart uses, so I took it out. I have a Brita filter on my tap, so I don't need it really. Helped a little, but still has a funny taste. So I switched to some other Giant Eagle brand, and it doesn't have the bitter taste, but it's not great coffee either. Oh well.

I recently read to avoid the bitter ick taste... remove the filter from the machine as soon as the water runs through.... It is after this that the following drips add the bitter! Give it a shot.. I dont need to do it with weaker coffees but with starbucks and the like it works ace... As soon as it has run through I grab the hot filter and pitch it... Works well...
