The likelihood of paraplegia is 1:100.000. Many large hospitals have anesthesiologists who specialize in OB.

I wouldn't say that neutral 27 hours labour, 9 cm, brow presentation/posterior kid with enormous head, had to be yanked out of my pelvis backwards in an emergency c-section.

Second kid was induced with a epidural all the way, episiotomy & vacuum extraction, yay neutral

Third kid shot out in an hour, there was barely time for any such thing, though I did get annoyed with the master for mucking up the counting, so maybe that was it?

seriously, it's not that big a deal.

when i was twenty, i hated kids and never wanted one. I was all concerned abut my body getting "ruined" (which happens as you get older anyway, baby or no baby) and my "girl parts" getting stretched out and torn but then i grew up a bit.

Women have babies everyday and they're still beautiful, still sexy, and don't have torn up "girl parts".

I think that a lot of us felt that way when we were young and quite honestly pretty ignorant. I certainly did anyway.

I'm a little strange that way. When I was in Japan, I thought I wanted to just fool around. But then as I did that, I realized how boring and joyless it is for me, and it wasn't because I'd done it so often. This was really my first time doing stuff like that to such a degree, and I just didn't care for it. Now I'm just ready to settle down.

It has nothing to do with not having grown up. It's the truth. Women's bodies are never the same after childbirth. Most gain weight that they can't get rid of.My buddy married a thin woman, fast forward a couple kids and he is now living with an overweight woman. Who does not look like the one he married.

And don't forget that most little kids are annoying as hell.

she probably would have gotten fat anyway. people get fatter as they get older. childbirth does change a woman's body, yes that is true, but with age comes a slower metabolism and weight gain. it's a part of life.

But getting knocked up makes that happen a lot faster. I know of women in their early 30's who are still in good shape. And having kids makes it even harder to lose that weight.
