First, you should know my wife and I are expecting our first baby in the next couple of weeks, and we've needed to get a lot of things done, which we weren't sure whether or not were going to get done before going into labor. With that said, here's why today is a good day:

1) Today is the day we'll officially be able to deliver in the birth center rather than the hospital - earlier this year we were told we couldn't even have children without medical intervention. We prayed, and now our pregnancy is not only a miracle, but also a normal, healthy pregnancy, not a medical problem!
2) Bath Fitter showed up right at 8am this morning to install our new bathtub and shower all in one day, after I placed the order just last week (they were very accomodating about needing it ASAP because of the baby).
3) I used the new CharlieCard tap-and-go system on the Boston subway for the first time and it worked great.
4) Golden Globe noms include Prince and Seal (two of my favorite artists).
My parents just gave us a camcorder, which arrived at my office just now - they ordered it in England yesterday and were told it would arrive sometime next week! I will be a videotaping freak tonight.
5) The temp agency arranging my replacement for the month of January found a great candidate today, who's coming for two days of training early next week despite not starting until mid-January.
6) I found a way to lock access to all my personal files and music on my work computer so the temp can't get at them.
7) Daisuke Matsuzaka finally signed with the Red Sox.
8) The vending machine at work actually had Diet Coke!
9) It's beautiful weather outside.

If the baby changing table is waiting for me when I get home and our car is available to pick up from the body shop, we'll be ready for the baby even if he/she decides to come tonight!

S'okay - they ordered it from the US. It just seemed more dramatic that they ordered it in England, even though they placed an order on the net from a US store just like I would have done.

I just found out it doesn't have a memory card or a videocasette in it, though, so I'll need to run out now and buy one/both.

As a PS, the baby changing table did arrive yesterday too!

And the bathtub looks perfect.

And the car is available at lunchtime today.

And baby is still kicking away inside my wife.

- My student loan check finally arrived. Thank gawd.
- I signed up for some sessions with a personal trainer to learn how to use free weights. Was going to start today, but my gym is closed due to the crazy storm we just had.
- I still have power after the crazy storm we just had.
- I don't have to do ANYTHING today if I don't feel like it.
- I'm healthy and I have enough to eat and there are people who love me.
