People accuse me of being in a "Clique" and I always crack up because I am friends with so many different people here, many of which would never be assumed to belong to a "clique". I don't believe in cliques and I am friends with anyone who is friendworthy. I just think when people start throwing that word around, they really want to belong to something

but when I do,
I expect people to refrain from using the "C" word. Or if they feel they have to use it, they use it conservatively & constructively.

i once called a female co worker a cunt, and boy did she get upset. why is it considered so derogatory?

Well, for starters name calling is juvenile. It's like yelling at someone. You don't raise your voice at anyone and you don't call them names. Period. As for the word itself, it has aquired powerful negative connotations over the years. Now, I don't take offense to it being in general use (I actually kinda like the word) but I've had lengthy discussions with women who do. It's like swearing in front of children, you just don't do it. It's bad manners and some will find it highly offensive, for whatever reason.
