What should I get my wife for Christmas?

And before you say it, no, not sex toys. If I make one of those purchases, it will be for Valentine's Day or something.

I'm serious, I need gift suggestions. She never wants anything specific. I've done the day spa gift certificate and she ended up never going. She doesn't really like jewelry that much. She won't trust me in picking out clothes for her (and no, not because she is afraid I might wear them...that was a one time thing). So what do I get?

I guess I just get her gift cards and be boring. That would be the easiest thing. But I want to do something special, I am just drawing a blank.

I'm going to end up getting her something stupid again I know it, like a DVD Rewinder or something.

She doesn't like jewelry and didn't go to a spa! Geez, she sounds kinda loopy to me. whofarted

Anyway, do an experience gift. Tickets or passes of some kind (symphony, play, concert, wine tasting, museums, opera, ballet, modern dance, movie theaters) or a class (cooking, yoga, pilates, glass blowing, car repair. . . check your local community college) or something. smile

Just give her some money and tell her to get herself what she wants. Don't spend time worrying about that crap.

How about a nice handbag or a toiletry bag (perhaps with some nice skin- and haircare products inside)? Or shoes. You can never go wrong with shoes as long as you know the right size.

Get her some nice "parting gifts" like luggage or a toaster.

Though make it clear that you are not "parting," it's just that those gifts are pretty cool and we never think to actually get them in other situations.

All great ideas...especially the haircut idea! I could give her a gift certificate for a free hair cut at Wal-Mart!

What does she like? If she's a major coffee drinker, maybe get her one of those Cuisinart coffee makers. Or if she likes to decorate the house, maybe get her some new furniture or something. If she goes to the salon each month to get her hair done, maybe get her a gift certificate for that?
