JVC EVERIO the camcorder with a hard-drive.

That's the most recient toy purches I've made.

It's kinda cool, to have kicking around, althought the quality of video I'm use to isn't matched by the Everio.

you can just connect it to your computer and move video files from the camcorder to the computer. That does save you time.

What they don't tell you is that the Everio saves the files in a strange MOD file format only known to JVC.

There are ways around it, to make them into AVI files that can be worked with some of the best video editing software, but you have to convert, import, render, save, and all that takes time time time.

So really in the end you don't save yourself time.

However the newest programs versions such as Adobe Premiere include Mod file handlers. However that means you need plunk down the full price of the new software upgrade.

The Everio includes software that is quite basic, but will do the job if you are a noveltist or just want to make quicky video productions for dvd.
