Definitely what I do now!
However, if you can count it (i.e. as an occupation e.g. like when asked on application forms i.e. when you didn't have a proper job and that was, so to speak, your job), being a student was a good ol' buzz* *Excluding the aspect of living on the breadline "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

I'm keeping an eye on one of my best friends right now to see when he'll break. He's working with investment banking from around 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. every weekday plus at least one eight-hour day every weekend... I think it's the high salary that's still keeping him there, so in a sense you can count yourself as lucky that you didn't get trapped by something like that. I bet he won't break. I've met some tough guys who just LOOOOOVE to work! Maybe he won't break per se, but if he keeps going like this he's going to wake up one day and realize that he's missed out on a lot of things in life, and that won't exactly feel good. His own girlfriend is spending much more time with me than with him these days (nope, nothing going on between us) and if he ever manages to go and see a movie or go for a beer during his precious little free time, he's very likely to fall asleep. Sure, he tries to make the most of his time, and he's pretty good at it, but really - what kind of a life do you have when you get five business calls on your cell phone after 11 p.m. on a Friday night?

the job I do every spring. I work for a major film festival and bring visiting filmmakers to schools to talk to kids. I pick and choose which films to show the kids and get to hang out with some of the best filmmakers in the world. my dream job.

Me too. I lifeguarded during summers while in high school and all through college--at the University Rec Center during the school year and at a public pool in the summers. Ah, those were the days...in the summer wake up 15 minute before you leave for work. Be outdoors all day (and get tan) and then party after the pool closed. Working at the Rec Center was nice too, especially when the basketball or track team had to do water workouts. Yummy. The job I have now would be in contention if the museum where I worked had a different permanent collection.

To this day, if someone gives me a whistle on a lanyard, I'm a twirling motherfu%#er. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on
