It's in the 60's here. I'm going for a 10 m run at one. Get to wear shorts. (It's too cold to run in the morning, below 50 degrees!)

I went ice skating today for the first time in like 20 years and it was almost 50 degrees. It was a blast. Here is a video of my first few shaky steps (but I got better as the day progressed I swear lol )

Sounds nice. I can't get into the chilly winter thing this year. Usually I don't mind. pout

I need to just get over it and go outside. I really want to get the gear for cold-water kayaking, but it's so expensive. I am taking a snowshoeing course next month, though.

In the meantime, I finally dug out my stupid gymwear and have resigned myself to a mill-treading existence for a few months. sigh

That looks like fun (except for having to figure out how to stop)! biggrin

Are the lakes usually frozen solid there by this time of year?

I've never iceskated outdoors. Our lakes rarely freeze. shrug

That's awesome!

I generally go skating once every few years or so. I still have skates. I always forget how hard it is on the ankles.

Does that youtube also include you falling through the ice, because it doesn't look very solid right now. lol

I wouldn't want warm weather right now. Who wants 70 degrees during X-mas time? (besides those southern hemisphere people biggrin ) hmmm I'm jealous of all the people who have snow right now.

Anyway, it's WAY too warm here in Holland, and I keep wishing it would get cold and snow. sigh I know it won't though. confused

I was a little worried as well but after a few measurements the ice was a good 5 inches which is more then enough for people.

Oh ok. It looks like it's fading off into melted lake behind you there though. lol

That's a rough spot of ice that was melting and then refroze. 90 percent of the lake was very smooth. It was really fun skating across it which is over a mile the long way.

Some people do, like my girlfriend. But I was raised in LA & now I'm in the San Francisco area, so I can't really deal with any thing beyond 60's or 70's

eek

Well, with humidity, a bay area, ofcourse upper 70s 80s is stifeling. Out here, where it's dry, low or no humidity, upper 70s can seem a little chilly. Perfect weather out here is 98 degrees because that's what the basic body temp is.

It's a dry heat. Those are not just words.
