what do you think of the notion that we end up with men like our fathers?? hmm

It's true. You would be amazed how many women have "daddy issues". It's creepy. You'll find women who did not get enough attention from daddy and go out looking for a man to be her daddy. Or you'll find women who were very close to her daddy and look for a man just like him. Creepy either way. lol lol

I won't generalize and say ALL women are like that, but once again, I do agree with what Spats is saying, that is very common.

I would like to find a woman who complements my own personality, who counter-balances my more extreme characteristics and who at the same time loves and understands me for who I am, just as I would love and understand her for who she is. I would like us to be on the same fundemental wavelength, and to feel like we would not stop liking each other even during a fight (few things are worse than feeling like you're complete strangers as soon as a disagreement arises).

I would want her to have her priorities straight, to be intelligent and warm-hearted, adventurous and funny, happy yet critical and skeptical when needed. I would want to feel like she's my main ally in the world and someone I can trust to see through facades and shells.

I sometimes wish that I didn't think she existed because that might set me free in a certain sense, but since I do think she's out there somewhere I'll probably keep looking until I'm too old to tie my own shoelaces. neutral

As far as the physical:

I'm ALWAYS attracted to dark haired men. I'm not attracted to blondes, except for Daniel Craig, who I just saw yesterday in Casino Royale, and holy shit, he is HOT HOT HOT!!

Has to be at least an inch taller than me.
He can't be younger than me.

With that said:

Globally conscious
Practical
Self reliant

Mama's boys, psychopaths, or anyone who has served time FOR ANY REASON need not apply.

I go for the brown/darker skinned brothas that are quite understated and yet classy in their appearance. I don't like a lot of jewerly. A very nice watch is good enough. Maybe a nice ring as well, maybe. No bling AT ALL. I don't care for red, purple, electric blue suits unless your name is Prince.

Now if you're the boho type, a little more jewerly is fine and more color is ok.

oh yeah...you must be heterosexual too. nod lol

True. And there are tons of women who mommy their men. Like that woman here who wanted her boyfriend home by a certain time every night.

Pretty much everyone has issues because of their parents. We are all a product of our upbringing. The good and the bad.

I've never dated anyone like my father and he sooooo wouldn't be my type.

I'm afraid of turning into my father. I'm waaaaay more like him than my mom.

a girl i used to work with once said "you're attracted to guys who are a little bit SMEARED, aren't you?" lol

i never thought about it till then, but it's true - i like a guy who's a little rough and tumble looking, who kinda looks like he just fell out of bed (without TRYING to look like he just fell out of bed), and who has some threadbare patches here and there.

super glossy, high-maintained, uber-stylish guys make me nervous. why would i want to touch them? i'd mess something up. they should put slipcovers over themselves in case someone spills kool-aid around them. they look pretty, but then again, i think origami looks pretty sometimes but i know better than to handle it.

so yeah. smeared. love it.

Well I grew up among women that had big breasts. So seeing women with feature was normal for me.

My mom nursed me the normal time...

I also don't like skinny women...
