I think there are significantly more immoral things I could be doing with my time and money than watching a good movie made by a guy who may be a dick in his personal life. a dick???? That's a hell of an understatement. Whatever.

I know you would love it! It's a total love story about a guy risking life and limb to literally save his wife... I promise you'll like it!

There is a throat gashing in this one too, but it's a powerful moment - happens in the early part of the movie and acts as a strong inspiration for one character... My girlfriend turned away on some scenes... she had no desire to see the movie but I talked her into it and she LOVED it....

The Passion? I didn't really like it myself either... I'm going to fly to your place when this DVD comes out, put you down on the couch with me, make you watch the movie with me and then let you cry on my shoulder as you talk about how emotion you got over the movie!

I'm glad you liked it! I knew you would! When you look at it, the story is so very simple, but I think the film pretty much keeps you on the edge of your seat (once the main character starts his journey home).... I felt it started out pretty slow and I guess I was surprised by all of the jokes that the characters were telling - did that kinda seem weird to you at first? I think it makes sense because it made it easy to relate to these characters/culture - on a personal level, they were just like us....

I try my best to not go to movies made by bigots. Ditto. He funds his father's racist, homophobic church and he won't be seeing dime-one from me. Would you go see Michael Richards' new production if he funded a "church" for his old man to spread his racist bullshit?

controversy aside, the passion was too graphic for me. the part when He was whooped with chains that tore his skin was too much for me. It had me in tears and i had to turn from it. besides my conscience that won't let me put money into it-i i know its too graphic. i can't stomach it.
