My favourite Bollywood movie of all time is still Haathi Mere Saathi (Elephant, my friend), which I saw as a child and bawled my eyes out to. You don't need to understand Hindi (I don't) because it's so well written and directed that you understand what's happening all the way through it. I saw it again recently and cried again. Lovely film - the elephants are definately the stars.
