Depending on the kinds of projects I'm working on I must have it, can't focus on work w/o it. But I rarely drink it on weekends or when I'm not doing something intense @ work...

Trying to get out of the Starbucks habit & make my own @ home. Luckily I have a coffee/espresso maker so it's easy to make all that foofie shit I like biggrin Just today I searched the web for a tamper nod

I don't drink coffee for months at a time, if I can help it. Once I get into a coffee-drinking phase (like right now) I can't get enough of it. I'll have maybe 10 or 12 cups a day. shake

omfg

I couldnt ever ever sleep if I drank that much! I can manage 2 cups a day if I want to continue to function like a normal human being, who sleeps and has a normal heartrate... and makes sense when she talks.

I think I'm an addict in the true sense, except I can live without it. When I am in a "coffee period" I can't stop at one or two cups. I drink it black and strong and will drink one cup after another.

Needless to say, when I'm in moments like these (as I am now) I spend a lot of the day buzzing. I think I'm more creative when I'm "on" coffee; I'm certainly more productive. The downside is that I can't sleep. Last night I think I got 2 hours.

Ambien - I haven't heard of that. I'll have to look it up. Is it a sedative?

I don't think I'd want to go down the drugs route. I'd rather just lay off the coffee, which I do when I feel I need sleep or start getting palpitations from being too high on the stuff.

eek See now thats my problem. Some people can function for days, weeks on end, on hardly any sleep, but I can't. I just start to emotionally and mentally breakdown, I really need my sleep to make me a normal human being!

I go on it and then off it or a couple of months in a row though, I statr to drink it slowly again, then Im on 3 cups a day, so I quit, but I get a 3 day headache. Even if Ive had it 3 days in a row, then I don't, I get a headache. confused

It makes you quite sleepy in about 30 minutes but you don't wake up feeling groggy - you feel well rested & wonderful.

I only went that route b/c not sleeping was becoming detrimental to my job/health but I simply had to have the coffee to function so it was a no win. Melatonin is over the counter & works for lightweights though...
