My favortite is De Niro, though greatest would probably be Brando.
Al Pacino is a pleasure to watch, he has great craft, but he is not the most believable actor IMO. I'm a huge fan if Jack Nicholson. He doesn't have the greatest range, but I believe him in just about any role. Also Daniel Day Lewis--made Leo look like trash in Gangs of New York. I also enjoy Don Cheadle, Dustin Hoffman, Denzel, Harvey Keitel My Legacy

Robert De Niro
Al Pacino Marlon Brando Johnny Depp Jack Nicholson ...I completely agree with pretty much every name that's been stated here BUT ...there is one in particular that is missing the great Anthony Hopkins other names I'd list too are... Jonathon Rhys-Myers Robin Williams Gary Oldman Ian McKellen

I don't know that I could pick one, but my list would include Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro

Brando. DEFINATELY Brando

Like most, the stand out actors for me have been Bobby D and Al (probably De Niro by just a hand over the course of the years).
Brando was something else too. I agree with Retina as well. Penn is one of the best of his generation "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Brando is definitely the greatest actor ever. these actors are great too, but you must admit that they all have learned or studied something from the great Brando himself: Al Pacino (in "The Godfather" ) Robert DeNiro Jack Nicholson (in "The Departed" that man is a legend!!) Johnny Depp Sean Penn Denzel Washington (in "Malcolm X" ) Don Cheadle (in "Devil in a Blue Dress" ) Ed Norton, Jr. these are the actors who are on their way to being the greatest, coming up in the ranks right now: Leonardo DiCaprio Matt Damon I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Of all time, that is a hard one to answer.
For this time, I would say Johnny Depp. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
