I'll admit I have this on VHS. It was unique and raw, dammit. It came out when I was in high school, and we had to do a spoof on it to sell a bogus "Mega Tent Security System 3000". Still got that tape, too. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Seriously? You think it's THE scariest? If you watch closely, you'll realize that....nothing really happens.

In my head. When my imagination's allowed to run free watching a flick like that, I practically need a diaper for safety reasons. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I really liked it. The marketing was genius. I waited in line for an hour to get tickets for a show days away and we got there early to get in on opening day. I love 'event' movies like that. And I found it terrifying. Truly, truly scary. I'm nto a fan of horror films in the least. I can't take blood and guts and such. This was scary and suspenseful without being a gross-out. That was my fave part about it. |

Ditto to everything you said up there, girlie. I don't generally enjoy typical horror movies in the slightest, but this one was able to avoid all the cheesy special effects and gore. It's just fun. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

No! Ok I'll give you a play by play: Shakey camera goes throughout a decrepit house in the woods. There's handprints on the walls and dry wall missing and crap. They go down stairs to the basement finally where it's practically pitch black. Your POV is as if you were looking thru the camera, so all of a sudden you fall to the ground. It focuses in on the dirt. Another camera view (this time in b/w) goes into the basement. You breifly see a guy standing in the corner facing the wall. That camera falls and you hear a thud. The end. My post was *supposed* to say: This movie was WACK AS FUCK! I mean my friends and I hear it's "scary as hell" (Peter Travers), so we go, and we are BORED OUT OF OUR MINDS with this trash. Just sitting there yawning, not scared through the whole thing. I can barely remember it. Atrocious! [Edited 11/29/06 17:12pm]

OK, I'm a big scaredy cat so I never wanted to watch Blair Witch.
But I just watched that scene and left my head scratching. Basically it's an amatuer episode of MTV (Condemned) Cribs with people screaming in the background.
