Rocky Balboa vs Dreamgirls!

Yes, these are 2 totally different films however they are both scheduled to come out around Xmas day. Which one will you be seeing and which one will be number 1 at the box office? I definitely plan to see Dreamgirls since I remember seeing the musical a long long time ago but Rocky is the ultimate film. I'm going to even go as far as saying it is one of the greatest films ever made in the history of American film! Rocky 1 and 2 are classic. I'll end up seeing both but Rocky I may see even more than once while in the cinemas! Sadly I think Dreamgirls will do better because of Beyonce but it's all about Sly as far as i'm concerned!

You could'nt drag me to see Rocky Balboa. I'm expected to believe that a 50+ old man who took 500 punches to the head in each movie. Isn't comatose or dead from severe brain trauma. It insults my intelligence. I would go see another Rambo movie before Rocky. As for Dreamgirls, I'm leaning towards waiting for it to come out on dvd. But my wife may want to see it for our date night. It's her turn to pick.

The play was pretty popular though. It could be good.

I'm not saying which will be better, but I'd say Rocky is pretty much a hype machine as well.

well Rocky is like a cult classic so based on that it might be pretty successful.

yeah it's a successful "franchise" (I hate that terminology when it's applied to art, but oh well)

I guess what I mean by hype is that the next Rocky is always supposed to be "more like the first one," and it usually fails to fulfill that promise

Either one could be good when it comes down to it, though
