That sounds about right. There's sometimes a kind of magic behind it too though, that tips the scale. It's not just skill and subconscious reasoning, I think, even though that constitutes the bulk of it. . How would you define subconscious reasoning? I ask because we're not able to tap into our subconscious at will and make decisions based on that, if we do its conscious reasoning. You could have subconscious impulses, but you wouldn't be aware of them. | |

This applies even to the simplest things; you don't think to yourself that "if I drop this apple it will fall to the ground because of gravity, the effects of which I've observed countless times", but subconsciously you do make that kind of reasoning (or "decuction" if you will, it's just a matter of semantics). | |
