Shooting Stars! How many shootinmg stars have ytou seen? Have you seen any? Do you see them often? I always remember one night walking back from a bar with friends, throughh the countryside and we all looked up and saw a shooting star.. it was a wonderful moment, we all made a wish and carried on walking, talking about the experience we had just had. Two weeks I saw another one, walk8ing home in the dark, frightened, lonely and cold.. I made my wish. Tonight, just now I have seen another and made a wish. At my sisters' in London, they arent so fortunate to see shooting stars, cos the sky is filled with artificial illuminations and they never seem to have a clear natural sky.. but where I am now, I feel warm, comfortable able to see all the stars lighting the night above me, they are so beautiful and clear, they really are a wonderous sight..

Ex-Moderator | I miss the stars.
I don't see them often now, cause of the light pollution, but everytime I'm at my parents at night I make sure to take a good look. I've seen many shooting stars in my life time. I've gone out to watch meteor showers before. |

In the Caribbean, with clearer skies than the U.S.(no smog), they are seen quite regularly. Many times each night. As a kid I used to close my eyes and make wishes, but as I aged I realized this practice was just infantile. They are so common place here that I see them and still don't see them. Just like rainbows.

I've see a couple so close & big that it seemed you could see the fire coming off of them. Not just a flash, but a burning rock flying across the sky. Amazing. My Legacy

I've seen a few but more when I was living in Hereford last year - we were in a tiny village and there were no lights at all where the cottage were so we had really clear skies and lots of shooting stars.
More often, I see satellites. I will go outside quite often and wait for a satellite to pass overhead. It's rare that I'll wait longer than 20 mins before one passes. I love watching the skies.

When I go to northern Ontario in August we go out and watch the Perseid meteor showers. We stargaze quite a lot when we're there.
The next ones are the Geminids on December 14 during the morning crescent moon. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

I just saw one the night before last. I went outside to walk my dog after receiving really good news from a friend. I was outside looking up at the clear sky- the moon shining bright and the stars twinkling. I was saying a little prayer and thanks- counting my blessings you could say then all of a sudden I saw Shooting Star!
